Pack a lunch and join your friends and family at these Westchester County picnic spots.

If you're looking for ways to enjoy this summer's final weekends, why not pack up some food, grab your friends and family, and head on over to your favorite Westchester County Park for a picnic? Picnics are a great way to get some sun and fresh air, plus our area's natural beauty can't be beat. It helps set the perfect backdrop for a picnic and also makes our local parks so special.

Our REALTORS® love picnicking on the weekends, and we've become quite the experts on our local parks and amenities. Here are our six favorite Westchester County picnic spots this year:

  • Glen Island Park - Weyman Ave, New Rochelle, NY 10805
Enjoy a beautiful beach picnic at Glen Island Park, a 105-acre Island park offering easy access to the Long Island Sound. There are many picnic pavilions, tables, and plenty of free space. There is also a boat launch, which handles about 65 to 70 launches every weekend. The park is open daily through September 5. The park is connected to the mainland via a historic drawbridge, so it's just a short drive from these New Rochelle homes for sale.

  • Kingsland Point Park - Tarrytown Light-Kingsland Point Path, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591
If you're looking for one of the most scenic parks in Westchester County, you have to visit Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow. Located on the eastern side of the Hudson River, the park has an overlook with amazing views of the Tarrytown Lighthouse. There are also plenty of picnic areas, trails, and playgrounds, so you can easily spend an entire day here.

  • Liberty Park - Lake St, White Plains, NY 10604
Just down the road from these White Plains homes for sale is Liberty Park. The park is actually named in honor of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. With picturesque views and a relaxing, clean environment, this 2-acre waterfront space is one of the best picnic spots in Westchester Country. It's also a great place for fishing and kayaking.

  • Croton Gorge Park - 35 Yorktown Rd, Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520
With mesmerizing views and lots of green space, Croton Gorge Park makes for an excellent picnic destination. Located at the base of the Croton Dam, the park offers an up-close look at the dam and spillway — and it's quite a sight to behold. The park has clean restrooms, and parking is available for a fee. Operating hours are dawn to dusk year-round.

  • Scenic Hudson Park - 29 Bridge St, Irvington, NY 10533
Conveniently located on the shores of the Hudson River, Scenic Hudson Park is a charming outdoor space that offers 4.5 acres of open lawn for picnicking. You can take advantage of the ball fields, playgrounds, and a one-mile trail that winds through the park. This beautiful community amenity is just a short distance from some of our favorite Irvington homes for sale
